Richard worked for Saint-Louis for many years. Since winning the prestigious Meilleur Ouvrier de France in 2015, Richard has continued to push his technique, creating some of the most interesting and artistically technical work France has seen in decades.

In this example hearts are the the hidden subject in a grander design featuring a colorful garland over an opaque white ground. Each flower is composed of heart shaped petals and at the center of many you will find additional heart shaped cane centers. Tucked amongst the brilliant blossoms is various green foliage and fine trailing vines. Additional heart shaped 'bonbons' are scattered throughout the setup and a lone ladybug rests at the center of a large red flower.
